A human on earth. Ask me about weird tech. Bonus points if it radiates.

Current Russia is about as far from communism, socialism or any left-wing agenda as possible. It is a reactionist, authoritarian, pro-tradition anti-progress state run by a wealthy elite. Being against current Russia has literally nothing to do with McCarthyism, other than geography.
McCarthy was anticommunist, if you believe that current Russia has anything to do with worker liberation, I cannot help you.
Really not worth an answer, but I feel I need to give one regardless.
If Russia wanted the war (that they started, yes, you start a war if your military moves across a border and starts shooting) to stop, they would suggest any kind of compromise in negotiations. Russia wants to occupy the Ukraine as a whole. It has no interest in stopping a war that they are not losing.
There might be no war but class war, but the people in the Kremlin are not exactly happy, socialist proletarians. Quite the opposite. From what I hear from people who lived there, Ukraine was a corrupt and poor country, but still leagues better than Russia.
Why would the ruling elite of Ukraine want the war to continue (apparently they have a choice other than surrendering and running away)? So that they might ultimately lose and end up shot by the Russians? Come on, that’s stupid.
Oh wow. I was referring to aggressive beggars or pickpockets. That seems like a whole different category of problems.
Depends? Shady part of the city, late night, slightly drunk and alone? Absolutely. Going for lunch in a nic small town? Absolutely not. The street sign I run into would probably tell me it’s sorry.
So, yeah, depends on the situation. I’ve had most negative interactions either in crowds or at places like train stations, so that is where I am most paranoid
Why do you have issues with liquids? Because of the chance of leaks?
Personally, I think 1l or so of oil is pretty handy, and coolant can be topped up with water in an emergency (do ensure the correct amount of actual “coolant” is in there, in a non-emergency, because corrosion is not fun. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think brake fluid is worth it, if there is a situation where I find myself without brake fluid, I probably can’t do anything with small tools.
IMHO it is worth the risk. If I lived away from gas stations, I would probably also have a fuel can.
I like your optimism, but sadly I cannot share it…
This. Being an asshole is totally legal.
People are fucking stupid. Period.
Remember “us sane people” making fun of Facebook, only to watch everyone use it within 5 years? Or the recent short video trend? And now intelligent, well informed young people link you shorts of completely unverified claims as facts.
People are fucking stupid. Everyone who claims not to be is stupid and in denial.
Depends. I am think the fact that we can access a lot of diverse sources of information is the greatest part of the internet. For example, I do not want to ask a person how this obscure part of this device works, I want to quickly know how this device works. Usually, I tend to use both classic search engines and the hallucination machines, because both can shortcut hours of research or be completely useless, depending on the question.
Fair point.
Maybe I feel like this because I’ve been in the same situation before, where it felt like I had exhausted all social options in my comfort zone. Asking random strangers is nice sometimes, because it gives you perspective and feedback from people who are out of your own bubble. Or, at least, a way to vent your frustration without risking to alienate your friends.
Unfortunate :(
Although, this still reads like “standard” stuff like using google analytics or a Facebook plugin. To me, this does not seem to be any worse than most mainstream sites.
Of course, modern internet sucks balls, don’t get me wrong.
No offense, but “be content in being alone” is not a good answer to “how do I meet new people for a chill time”
I just quickly read through them, and it just sounded like the usual “we run as here”. Could you specify it a bit? Or take a screenshot of the relevant part?
+1 for hiking groups/clubs. It usually consists of lonely people who spend too much time inside, I made some friends that way.
Obviously, don’t suggest a hike to the deep forest with convenient lack of phone service and witnesses as a first date :)
Mimicry not, but a lot of “cute” behaviour is absolutely learned. If our dog wants something, she pokes you with her paw while making a cute face. Must have learned that from her previous owners. Our previous dog (who we had for much longer) never did that. That shit is 100% conscious effort, as in she observed humans tapping each other on the shoulder and figuring out that it works for her as well.
Depending on how you land, you might be quite limited in positions anyway
Actual focus, where I am 100% on the problem with all my remaining grey matter? 3-4h. That doesn’t mean I am doing nothing the other time - I’m talking to people, thinking about stuff, setting stuff up and so on. But if I do more than 3, 4 h, quality suffers, I suffer, and my sleep schedule suffers.
Eeh, come on. While yes, that is one way to put it, McCarthy has a certain ring to it, especially in left and liberal circles. Something something you cannot not evoke a thing without its frame.
