  • This happened to my wife too. She had super high rating like whatever the highest is 790? 800? She bought a telus phone and plan. They didn’t have coverage where she lived, Telus blamed the phone, the phone manufacturer said it was the service carrier. She cancelled her account because she couldn’t use it, so they charged her $300 cancellation fee. She refused to pay so it went to collections. She negotiated with collections to pay it and restore her credit that was suffering. Whatever they did ended up being a complete reset to 0, we only found out when applying for a mortgage and they were like, no you have no credit at all, like you never existed.

  • Amazon reviews can be pretty bad mix of unreliable data, especially since you fan have anyone review a product as a paid shill for the shitty seller to bump up the rating, and on the flip side there are morons that give 1 star because they disnt know how to use the product. I.e. There was an add on camera for the Essentials Phone. It Only fit the Essentials phone due to proprietary data connection and physical hardware power connectors on back of phone, and clearly states it only fits one phone. People are like 1 star I couldn’t get this working with my IPhone.

And you get stars that don’t match their reporting. 3 stars, this is the best product I have ever owned. 5 stars, It’s Ok. 1 this broke immediately, so I bought another one

  • I think you may have cherry picked one where landlord wants to lose money? Landlords typically price the units so it is self supporting and covers all fees etc.

I had counter examples but figured its not worth the back and forth. Ive run the calculators and here the mortgage including fees ends up way less than rental over 25 year period, and at end of 25 years I stop paying a mortgage, and a renter keeps paying till they die. You mentioned a smart renter would invest, but honestly I couldn’t afford to live in this place if it was rental, it would be over half my income. I’m better off owning and putting the difference from what it would rent for compared to my mortgage and fee, into an investment
